Guam needs this move. Hopefully the 5 Senators in question won't screw this up. I have lived on Guam for 30 years and remember when Angel Santo's was spitting on the gate guard at NAS. Such a Racist. The Marines move will only benefit Guam. Off base housing, spending money outside whats not to like? Look at what NAS turned into.

try being forced out of your ancestral lands and see your people losing their language because of assimilation. you say this because you have your culture and heritage and traditions intact, Angel Santos is an icon to all those who have felt the pain and devastation of unjust and corrupt laws and stands not only for the rights of his own race but for the rights of people in general. he was a fighter for human rights and believed that the military buildup would not be so bad if it didn't so negatively affect the growth and continuation of his native language, culture, and knowledge. you sir, need to know the whole story and look past the physical aspect of the act that he committed and see what the symbolism means. him spitting in that mans face was nothing compared to what the military did to his land and family; as well as countless others'. he was not afraid to stand for what he believed in and didn't hesitate to take affirmative action. so please, broaden your perspective, try to fit your feet into our shoes, and don't be so hasty to make such bold and brash statements. everyone you ever meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about, be kind and compassionate. always. thank you
