Maga’Låhi Tolahi - "Tachuc" Malesso', Guåhan

Maga’Låhi Tolahi was from the village of “TaCHuc” in Malesso’.  He was a leader who had no fear.

Tolahi tried desperately to appeal to southern villages to resist the Spaniards.

Tolahi fought on many occasion, until he was captured in 1675.

Captain Damian de Esplana wanted to set an example of Maga’Låhi Tolahi so as to instill fear in all those who defied the Spaniards.

He had Maga’Låhi Tolahi put to death immediately with a volley of firearms in June 1675.

Then they proceeded to his village and burned down his entire home.  [It’s possible that the name Tolahi is, today Terlaji].
