Spring Into Action @ Na Mea Hawai‘i

NA MEA HAWAI‘I

Welcome to a gathering space--workshop, studio and retail. A place for learning, and making, a place of exchange. We continue to only feature locally made products alongside culturally grounded practices, and books, CDs and DVDS about Hawai’i and the Pacific. Please, wander, enjoy, ask questions, make a new friend, come back, often. There is no hands off area-- we are all hands on.

Na Mea Hawai’i is a place to talk story, spend time, read a book, have some tea (and awa soon) make something, buy something, support a different way of being in community. Sign up for classes in STUDIO, don’t miss the wearable art wall, find out what other classes are being offered, what events are coming up. Enjoy our free WiFi, look at whose in our POP UP spaces and studios, pull up a chair in NOHO, enjoy our out-of-print book section. This is a Hawaiian place, we are here to share.

Come delve into the mysteries of the universe with us @ Na Mea Hawai‘i this sunday afternoon. Talk story session with light pupus and a signing to follow.

Author of The Ancient Hawaiian State, Robert Hommon will be in hale touching upon the striking similarities between the birth or development great civilizations around the world. Hommon illuminates the origins of the The Ancient Hawaiian State, highlighting the innate sense of resourcefulness, fluidness, and connection to place as the main attributes to the advanced technology and innovation of Native Hawaiians. There are many parallels and methods to be applied in our current state. Join us in dialogue for what some of those routes may be.
