It was twelve years ago on
October 11, 2003, that I sat with Juan (Kotla) Lujan Pangelinan to begin
interviewing Manenggon March and Concentration Camp Survivors. The collection
process and the production time of this documentary has been the most demanding
of any project I've worked on. I hope this documentary provides closure to the
Manenggon experience by validating Survivors' perspectives as factual, historic
accounts.
Laura Marie Torres Souder,
PhD says about the indigenous perspective, "The voices of those who are
willing to tell their story, contribute to the rich tapestry of our legacy and
experience as a people through time. Oral history captures our stories in our words,
through our eyes and hearts. It is real, valuable and totally legitimate.”
Please help us get the word
out of the list of Survivors provided below, so their families can join us
Tuesday night.
Please join us on Tuesday,
November 11, 2015 at 6 p.m. for the film debut at the Class Lecture Hall at the
University of Guam.
