President, reminded me we're inviting our young Chamorro Leaders to the
Leadership Council meeting at the Clubhouse, this Sunday, Sep 9, noon. So
please invite your younger group members and/or adult chilgren to attend.

Alcantara (Cal.Chamorro Breast Cancer Survivors Alliance.) and Lou Sablan
Acfalle in your prayers.
3. 60's gathering
08/31/12 Senior Lunch...we boosted the Friday attendance....Sandy Uslander
called to cover for the PDN but couldn't guarantee a huge turnout. Requested
she cover the San Roke work party and Fiesta with Tom Guzman's approval.
Guest Speaker Mario
Borja's Sakman presentation at the luncheon was captivating, historical and
informative, our ancestors did not have a written language...an Englishman
(Anson) recorded drawings of our super sakmans in 1742....Mario expounded on
Navigation using the sun, stars, ocean currents, swells, and flight of
birds...explained latitude sailing...if you drop a message bottle in San Diego,
it will find it's way to Guam...Still need major building funds to carry out
trip to Guam....need to enlarge boom... suggestion made for pledges... They're
also building a large fiberglass Sakman......plans are underway to build 500
Sakmans to mark the 500th anniversary of Magellan landing in 2021..

4. August 10 Ronald
McDonald House Ukelele Benefit Concert. Huge success for its first year...Thank
you Vern and Shirley Villagomez Lababit for your efforts...Our Pacific
Islanders shined that night...Ronald McDonald house officials were quite
pleased with the outcome...Thank you to all who supported the event. Che'lu
Inc. was well represented....Professional ukelele entertainers volunteered
..local Chamorros entertaining:"Tribal Theory"..."Island Rain"..10
members...5 Hawaiians/Filipinos ....5 Chamorros: Rose & Tony Treltas,
Janice Waller Bouffiou, Robert Cabrera and yours truly...amateurs, but we were
awesome! :)

6. Friday, Sep 28, 8
p.m. Drawing....Medical Fundraiser for June Bamba Perez's 27 year old nephew in
Houston, Texas, whose leg was amputated in a motorcycle accident...Tickets are
$20 each...Win an Apple 16GB Ipad valued at $400. Sta Teresita nobena starts
that night...offered June to hold drawing after the nobena, approved by Bataik.
