Saina Destilådu Stage Production - GUAM

Hafañe'lu:

Below is the upcoming stage production of Saina Destilådu to be performed at the John Robert Powers Theater in Maite on the indicated dates and performance times.”

The play tells the story of an elderly couple who struggle to cope with the erosion of Chamoru traditional family values and abandonment from their loved ones. Set in modern day Guam with a modern day family living in a posh lifestyle in a condominium on Guam, culture and the sign of the times clash with emotions and temperament of the entire cast.

Although the play's title is in Chamoru, only the elderly grandmother speaks in the native language but ensuing dialogue of the characters maintain the train of thought that is needed to emphasize a growing phenomenon that is ever present in the lifestyle and modern conveniences.

Tickets are on sale at $10 per person at the John Robert Powers Theater in Maite, at the Guam Gallery of Art in the Chamorro Village and/or by PayPal at gihticketing.com.

Although this message is sent to you as you are living off-island in the mainland and elsewhere, you do have relatives and contacts on Guam, so please feel free to encourage attendance by forwarding the attached flyer/poster.
