Kao malago' hao umeyak fumino' Chamoru?
(Do you want to learn the Chamorro language?)

•Ask a grandparent or relative who speaks the language to teach you.

•Ask a Chamorro teacher at the Department of Education to give you or your children private tutoring lessons.

•Immerse yourself in the language, hang out with Chamorro-speaking friends or family members, listen to Chamorro music, label items in your home with Chamorro words.

•Read Chamorro-language books -- some are accompanied by cassette tapes or compact discs.

•Take a Chamorro-language class at the University of Guam or the Guam Community College.

•Practice. Don't be embarrassed that you might mispronounce a word or use the wrong word, just speak.

•In learning the Chamorro language, choose a theme -- like family -- and learn all the different aspects of family in Chamorro.

•Check out Hurao Academy. Call them at 472-5858 or visit their Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/HuraoGuahan.
